Not medical advice
ASCETIC is a training log and a program builder. It gives general training information. It is not medical advice, and it cannot diagnose you, treat you or clear you to train.
Talk to a doctor first
Talk to a doctor or another qualified health professional before you start a new training, cardio or diet plan, especially if you:
- are injured or in pain;
- are pregnant or have recently given birth;
- are recovering from surgery or an illness;
- have a heart, lung, blood pressure, joint, bone or metabolic condition;
- take medication that affects your heart rate, blood pressure or balance;
- have, or have had, an eating disorder.
Stop and get help
Stop training and get medical help if you feel chest pain or pressure, severe shortness of breath, dizziness or faintness, an irregular heartbeat, or sharp or sudden pain. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Injury mode and exercise swaps
Injury mode and the exercise swaps work around a sore or injured area by changing exercises and loads. They are a convenience, not a treatment, and they are not clearance to train through pain. Follow your doctor's or physiotherapist's advice first.
The numbers are estimates
The weights, reps, sets, rest times, one-rep maxes, calorie and step targets and fat-loss pace in the app are estimates, from general rules and from what you log. Treat them as a starting point, not an instruction. You decide what to lift and how hard to push.
Lift safely
Use equipment you know how to use, warm up, use a spotter or safeties on heavy lifts, and stop if your form breaks down or something hurts.
Age
ASCETIC is for people 16 and older. If you are under 18, use it with a parent's or guardian's permission.
You train at your own risk
You choose the exercises, the weights and how hard you push, and you are responsible for training safely. The Terms of Service set out the full terms.
